IMS INVEST D.O.O. supplies Slovenia's national road system and various institutions and businesses with Calcium Chloride, for conditions under -5 degrees Celsius. The purpose of the chemical is to dissolve ice and prevent its further formation, thus preventing slippery surface and protecting the location from accidents. The manufacturer, Zirax produces high quality calcium chloride anhydrous pellets and anhydrous powder with minimum 94% content by using neutralization process. The exact process is patented by Zirax and provides for superior quality of produced material that can be used in variety of industrial food, energy and municipal applications. To manufacture pellets and powder Zirax uses high quality ultra pure calcium carbonate from its own mine and synthetic hydrochloric acid from natural salt electrolysis.

IMS INVEST d.o.o. has years of experience with production of modified bitumen in Slovenia based on the technology of Sasobit.

Sasobit is a mixture of long-chain hydrocarbons produced by the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. They are alkanes with a chain length of 40 to 115 carbon atoms. The product is free from ash-forming materials (metals) and contains no heteroatoms such as chlorine, sulphur, nitrogen and oxygen. As a result, Sasobit has excellent oxidation and ageing stability and may be stored indefinitely. When road bitumen is admixed with Sasobit, their properties are markedly improved.

Adding just 3% weight to a 50/70 bitumen results in a large increase in R&B softening point to the level of that of 10/20 bitumen. The plasticity range (the difference between the R&B softening point and the Fraass breaking point) is considerably extended. The high R&B value is both a recognition and identification feature when the binder is extracted from the asphalt.

Sasobit is very popular amongst the producers of low temperature bitumen because of many qualities, such as:

  • No need for any changes or additional investments
  • Savings during the production, installation and heating of bitumen
  • Lower production of harmful emissions such as CO2 NOX SOX. Asphalt plants using regular bitumen use 30% more energy for the heating of bitumen
  • Easier thickening
  • A higher resilience to heat, rut and spillage of harmful substances.
  • A longer life spam

This low-temperature bitumen enables the production of low temperature asphalt mixtures. So far, there have been already several successful projects implemented in Slovenia, which demonstrate that the construction of road surfaces with low temperature asphalts is an important and necessary advancement in the industry.

1: IMSBIT S/25 IMS BIT S/25 composed of bitumen B 20/30 and 3% of Sasobit corresponds to B20/30 type of road-constructing bitumen according to SIST EN 12591:2004
It ise ready for production of bitumen mastic asphalt mixtures and asphalt mixtures, which are designed for maximum load-bearing asphalt.

2. IMSBIT S/45 IMS BIT S/45 composed of bitumen B 30/45 and 3% of Sasobit corresponds to B20/30 type of road-constructing bitumen according to SIST EN 12591:2004
It is ready for production of upper and lower bearing asphalt mixtures, which are implanted in the medium busy road infrastructures, for the production of debris Mastic Asphalt and for the production of concrete bitumen, which is installed into heavily and extremely heavily loaded road infrastructures.

3. IMSBIT S/60 IMS BIT S/60 composed of bitumen B 50/70 and 3% of Sasobit corresponds to B20/30 type of road-constructing bitumen according to SIST EN 12591:2004
It is ready for production of asphalt mixtures, for upper and lower bearing supporting layers embedded into lightly and very lightly loaded road infrastructures, debris Mastic Asphalt, and concrete bitumens embedded in a medium congested road infrastructures.

4. IMSBIT S/90 IMS BIT S/90 composed of bitumen B 70/100 and 3% of Sasobit corresponds to B20/30 type of road-constructing bitumen according to SIST EN 12591:2004
It is ready for production of asphalt mixes such as debris with mastic asphalt or concrete bitumen, which are installed on and can be very busy pavement structures lightly and very lightly loaded road infrastructures.

5. IMSBIT S/PMB IMS BIT S/PMB are composed of polymer modified bitumens and 3% or 4% of Sasobit. They are produced based on specific requirements and specially made recipe.
